Extra Work, Music Video, Left Boy made by Lukas and I

Here is a Music video that Lukas and I made and edited in two afternoons. I think it is actually better than Hitz.

Extra Work, Music Video, Mac Miller made by Lukas and I

Evaluation Task 1, 3 By 3 Art

Top Left: Here we see (TJ) the main character waiting for his partner Mikey (Middle left).
the whole concept of the video is the tension of trouble building up and the possibility of
something going wrong.

Top Middle: This is a shot from a point of view of a passenger in the car with Mikey. It
is purposely done like this to make you feel more involved in the Video.

Top Right: Another shot of TJ waiting, here we see him checking his watch. this makes
the tension build even more. Now we get the impression that he is getting slightly impatient.

Middle Left: Introduction shot of another Character (Mikey) He is driving to meet with TJ
to arrange a deal that will hopefully go down well.

Middle: This is the cover of the Album. I thought it would be important to add the cover
into the grid.

Middle Right: Another shot of TJ. This is the beginning shot of the Video and it shows a
look of distress upon his face. It is almost as if he is praying that everything will go well.
This is the reason i thought it would be a good idea to put this shot at the beginning of the
video.

Bottom Left: TJ has just robber a local shop, This shows the crime and anger behind
the character of TJ. I thought it would be important to add other features to his character
to give the views a wider knowledge of him. This shot is at the end of the Video so
is also linked to the plan from the beginning that was passed on by a messenger.

Bottom Middle: Shot of TJ rapping in a recording studio, This gives the video a more
profesional look to it. It shows us that TJ is into Music and that is the path he wants to
take in like but he cannot get by on the small amounts of money he makes but selling
his tracks on the streets. Hence the crimes he commits.

Bottom Right: third actor (Dmitry) he is rapping to the lyrics (don't say that i didn't ever
warn ya, swear down i told you.) This fits well to the character of TJ and makes the
character of Dmitry look like a father or brother figure.

Evaluation Task 2, Prezi Link between main tasks

Evaluation Task 3, Audience Feedback

Evaluation Task 4, Media Technologies

I used many different types of Technologies through out the creation of my coursework. The first tool I used was Youtube and this was of course to search and research for different music videos and chose the song that I wanted to use. After that I went through other website searching for the manager of the artist so i could seek for permission to use the song. Later on I went searched through Institutions that my distribute my film such as the websites from JHO,EMI and Virgin Records.

I used a camera to take pictures of my story board and then upload them onto my Blog. I used Microsoft Word for the layout of my Risk Assessment. I used Photoshop for the Ancillary tasks of making a copy of a digipak and designing my own Digipak. Premiere Elements 9 was used for the editing of my film and I used a Flip camera and a Tripod for the filming parts. I found Premiere elements very frustrating at times as it would often freeze or take a long time to render or load.

All in all I thought the program was quite easy to use and had a good wide range of effects and transitions which proved useful in my video.

Audience feedback from Class Mate

Ancillary Task 1. Reviewing Albums

This is the cover for Chase and Status’

Most recent album, ‘NO MORE IDOLS’. The image is really in your face as well as the font. The first thing that catch’s your eye is the bright yellow bold font and then you see the aggressive bulldog in the background. I think that the black and white of it has a very powerful effect as it brings the text forward as well.  By looking at the cover of the album you will automatically want to turn it over and see what is hiding on the over side. The designer of this album has thought it through well.

Ancillary Task 2 - Difference between Digipaks and CD cases.

The main and obvious differences is of course the size and layout of the two.
Digipaks are bigger and have more panels. The are usually made out of card
board. On the other hand CD cases are made out of plastic and tend not to
have more than two panels. One to keep the leaflet in the other to keep the
CD in.
 This is a Digipak.
As you can see it
has three different
panels with info
-mation and stuff
about the CD with
a panel for the
CD.

 Here is a CD.
There are just two
panels for the
CD itself and the
leaflet including
information about
everything.

Ancillary Task 3, Digipak Viva La Vida

These are the genuine Album cover photos.

Ancillary Task 4, Digipak Cover, Coldplay Viva La Vida,

Here I have gone onto Photoshop CS4 and copied the digipak of Coldplays Album, Viva La Vida.
It has been fairly time consuming, but I am very pleased with the end result as it looks very similar
the the genuine version. The only problem I came upon was finding the pictures from the Inside of
the real digipak. So instead I copied some similar ones from the Internet.

Ancillary Task 5, My Digipak (Chase & Status - Hitz)

Here I have taken screen shots from my Music Video and edited them on Photoshop.
My Personal favourite is the Images on the bottom left. I used a colour tool and individually
edited each of the six images apart from the one in the bottom left corner. This almost proved
to take as long as the copy of Coldplays Album - Viva La Vida. However it has been very rewarding.
